Some rules
- Multiply the light sources, indirect lighting in which it is possible to adjust the intensity, direct lighting, diffused by a spider and special lighting for example, to track your activities (table lamp, lighting throat illumination from a source light that is hidden behind a panel parallel to the wall and located near the ceiling, which casts its light indirectly, reading lamp …).
- The lighting should not dazzle ever. Opt for incandescent lamps, avoid white walls, choose rather yellow, amber, beige and pastel.
- Beware of shadows on the walls: a lamp on the ceiling just above your desk or projected distracting shadows on the table when you lean forward. Prefers the front and side lighting on the table or desk. It also keeps the light falls directly on the seats with aplomb.
- Play with the lighting to give volume to the objects by placing fixtures side, behind or under objects highlighted. The lighting can thus highlight a picture, an aquarium or on the outside, the facade.
- Install regulators: the intensity can be modified.
- And finally, always do tests to see shadows and glare before finally setting your lamps.Illuminating the kitchen
You need a central point of light that illuminates the entire room and numerous soft lighting to countertops and sink, for each activity. You can also choose to wall to soften the environment.
Illuminate the living and dining room
Opt for a dimmer that lets you adjust the room environment. Multiply the points of light, soften the environment. A single light fixture creates an overly aggressive.
Avoid obliquely oriented light bulbs located above or behind the head, causing unsightly shadows and backlight.
Incandescent reflector lamps (bulbs non-transparent glass, translucent or opaque) combine well with cool colors. By contrast, the warm colors stand out with low intensity incandescent light.
Wall sconces can reduce the contrast between the center and bottom, sometimes too dark. The tulips and candles always bring relaxed note.
Light up a children room
In a room of children, avoid any electrical overload, unstable small lamps and lamps that are fastened with a clip. If possible, set the lights to the wall or ceiling and ensures that all light switches are readily available at the entrance of the room and from the bed. To illuminate well the study, choose a hose.
The bathroom
General lighting should be diffuse. To do this, you can adapt either a ceiling, lights or recessed lighting, low voltage halogen ceiling. Its position allows good light spread and not disturb the movement of people.
For spot lighting, light around the mirror must not distort the colors and do not need to bully. Opt-band illumination on both sides, or two symmetrical wall. Or better yet, a mirror surrounded by light, where the lighting frames the face.

For a long life lighting, try to prioritize fluocompact bulbs. Their life expectancy is five times greater than that of incandescent bulbs with four times lower consumption. Care for, however, cost more when shopping.
Also opt for the fluorescent tubes or neon lights. ” Compared to the incandescent light bulb life is 5 to 6 times higher. With its characteristic white light, are rather reserved for kitchens and bathrooms.
For decorative lighting or indirect, remember also equipped with halogen lamps powered by a regulator or a low voltage transformer. Its lifespan is twice that of conventional bulbs but cost more.
Switches
Equip your switches with pilot lights that allow them to be easily found in the dark. In the attic, garage and exterior path, used motion detection sensors: ensure the lighting without your intervention.
